Colette Rose
Colette Rose is a proud descendant of the Aboriginal Warmuli people of the Darug Nation, who identifies as having disabilities.
She can trace her family line back to Kitty, one of the first Stolen Children to be forcibly confined to the Parramatta Native Institute, and the English convict she later married.
Profoundly deaf in one ear and suffering from a chronic pain condition, art is a doorway into transforming energy and birthing new energy through.
She uses art and photograpy as therapy to process her story, and the trauma in her bloodline. Time in nature transmutes her pain into a sense of oneness and connection to a larger family.
